OVERVIEW

We use multidisciplinary approaches to advance knowledge in animal welfare. This mainly involves studies of health, behaviour, physiology, stress, neuroendocrinology, and epigenetics with relevance for motivation, cognition, and emotions. We use both experimental and epidemiological methods and emphasize veterinary and biomedical perspectives. Ongoing research projects focus on welfare in fish, pigs, poultry and sheep.
